stable case study
what did the case study cover?
So we selected an Australian stable at random that wasn’t the largest and wasn’t the smallest. Phillip Stokes Racing was the winner. Throughout the racing calendar year from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2024, if every horse in the Stokes stable finished just 1 position higher in each race, that would have resulted in an additional $3,532,999.00 in prizemoney.
A total of 116 horses were included in the dataset. The horses and their respective earnings were retrieved from Racing.com.
Of the 116 horses, 38 horses recorded $0.00 additional earning potential. This could be from horses yet to race, low position finishes or unbeaten horses.
On the assumption the stable keeps about 10% of winnings, the results of the study suggest the the stable stands to earn an extra $353,000.
The top 4.3% of horses that stood to increase their earnings the most, account for approximately 38.42% of the total potential earnings for the stable.
Those horses were Stretan Angel, Climbing Star, Prinzero, Taramansour and Amade.
